Called in India the village pharmacy is a tree that has been known there for a very long time. Characterized by its ability to purify the soil of salts. It is a perennial tree up to 180 years old, and may extend in the forest to 200 years.
Neem is a fast-growing, dense, shade-evergreen tree that grows heavily and represents in the forest a major manifestation of greenery. The height reaches 16 meters, sometimes 25 meters, and the total vegetative diameter of ten meters. It is one of the wood trees that have a large root size where the roots extend to large areas accidentally and not in depth; therefore, when planting Neem trees should be left spaces between each tree and a tree of at least 3 meters. The tree has a hard, dark brown stem, 75 to 150 centimeters in diameter, and has a cracked brown crust. Leaves gather at the ends of the branches, up to 30 cm long. Its leaves are made up of up to seventeen leaves. The side skirt has many flowers up to 20 centimeters long. The flower is white aromatic, and the fruit is lengthy up to one centimeter long and is green turns yellow when it ripens.
